Description
Crispy, cheesy, and a little spicy, these bacon jalapeño popper cheese balls are the ultimate appetizer for parties and game day.
Ingredients
– 8 oz cream cheese, softened
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– 1/4 cup diced pickled jalapeños
– 1/2 cup cooked, crumbled bacon
– 1/2 tsp garlic powder
– 1/4 tsp black pepper
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 eggs, beaten
– 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
– Oil for frying
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar, jalapeños, bacon, garlic powder, and pepper.
2. Scoop and roll into 1-inch balls. Freeze for 30 minutes.
3. Roll each ball in flour, dip in eggs, then coat in panko breadcrumbs.
4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry cheese balls for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
5. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauce.
Notes
– Freeze unbreaded cheese balls for longer storage.
– Bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes if you prefer to avoid frying.
– Serve with ranch, chipotle mayo, or your favorite dip.
