Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons fresh chives or parsley, chopped
1 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (for topping)
1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (for topping)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, and salt.
3. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
4. Stir in shredded cheese and herbs.
5. Add buttermilk and mix until just combined.
6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
7. Bake 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.
8. Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley.
9. Brush biscuits with garlic butter immediately after baking.
10. Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
For best results, use freshly shredded cheese.
