Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup snap peas
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 3 green onions, chopped (white and green parts separated)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup beef broth or water
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients to streamline the cooking process. Mince the garlic and ginger, slice the bell pepper, cut the broccoli into small florets, julienne the carrot, and chop the green onions, separating the white parts from the green tops. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth or water until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil. Once hot, add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned, seasoning with salt and pepper. Remove the beef with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving any excess fat in the skillet.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the bell pepper, broccoli, snap peas, and carrot, stir-frying for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet and mix well.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables, stirring to coat evenly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. If too thick, add a splash more beef broth or water.
- Drizzle sesame oil over the stir fry and toss in the chopped white parts of the green onions. Stir well, taste, and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve the stir fry over cooked rice or noodles, garnished with the green tops of the green onions.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the vegetables based on your preferences or what you have on hand.
- For a spicier kick, consider adding red pepper flakes or a splash of sriracha to the sauce.
