  • Yield: 12-15 servings

Description

This Turtle Lasagna Dessert is a no-bake, layered masterpiece featuring all the flavors of classic turtle candies. With layers of chocolate cookie crust, creamy cheesecake filling, silky chocolate pudding, caramel drizzle, and toasted pecans, this dessert is rich, decadent, and perfect for parties or family gatherings. It’s easy to make ahead and guaranteed to impress!

Ingredients

For the Crust:

– 2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs (like Oreos, finely crushed)

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Cheesecake Layer:

– 16 oz cream cheese, softened

– 1 cup powdered sugar

– 2 cups whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)

For the Chocolate Pudding Layer:

– 2 boxes (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix

– 3 cups cold milk

For the Ganache Layer:

– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

– 1/2 cup heavy cream

Toppings:

– 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted, for extra flavor)

– 3/4 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

– 1/2 cup additional chocolate chips (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. Prepare the crust by combining the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish. Refrigerate while preparing the next layers.

2. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping. Spread this cheesecake mixture evenly over the crust.

3. In another bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thick. Pour and spread the pudding layer over the cheesecake layer.

4. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the pudding and sprinkle half of the chopped pecans on top.

5. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream until simmering (but not boiling) and pour it over the chocolate chips. Let sit for 1 minute, then stir until smooth. Spread the ganache over the caramel and pecans.

6. Top with the remaining caramel sauce, remaining pecans, and optional chocolate chips.

7. Chill the dessert in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

– Toast the pecans before adding them to enhance their flavor and add extra crunch.

– Use full-fat cream cheese for the richest and creamiest texture.

– For cleaner slices, use a sharp knife dipped in hot water and wipe the blade between cuts.

– This dessert can be frozen and served like an ice cream cake—just slice and enjoy straight from the freezer!

– Feel free to swap the chocolate cookie crust for a graham cracker crust if you prefer a milder flavor.
