Soft, tender cookies inspired by classic Italian cannoli filled with ricotta, chocolate chips, and a hint of orange zest, then drizzled with chocolate and dusted with sugar.
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
Zest of 1 orange
1 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup melted chocolate (for drizzle)
Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add ricotta, egg, vanilla, almond extract, and zest.
3. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Add to wet ingredients.
4. Fold in chocolate chips.
5. Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheet and bake 10–12 minutes.
6. Cool completely, drizzle with chocolate, and dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
Drain ricotta well before using.
Add pistachios for a traditional touch.
Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
