Description
Garlic Parmesan Orzo is a creamy, cheesy, and garlicky side dish made in one pot and ready in 20 minutes. The perfect weeknight comfort food that pairs with everything from chicken to veggies.
Ingredients
– 1 cup orzo pasta
– 1 tablespoon butter
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1/4 cup milk (more as needed)
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes.
2. Stir in orzo and cook for 1 minute to toast.
3. Add broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 8–10 minutes, stirring often.
4. Stir in Parmesan and milk until creamy. Adjust consistency with more milk if needed.
5. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor.
Vegetable broth makes this recipe vegetarian.
Add more milk or broth if orzo thickens too much.
Customize with spinach, peas, or cooked chicken.
Reheat with a splash of milk to revive creaminess.
