Description
A creamy, golden casserole that combines tender steak, cheesy tortellini, and melty provolone for a comforting dinner the whole family will love. Inspired by Philly cheesesteak flavors, baked to bubbly perfection.
Ingredients
1 lb sirloin steak or ribeye, thinly sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 (20 oz) package cheese tortellini
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 ½ cups provolone cheese, shredded
1 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 ½ cups milk
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13 dish.
2. Cook tortellini until al dente; set aside.
3. In a skillet, sear steak in olive oil until browned. Remove.
4. Add onions and peppers; cook until soft. Stir in garlic, Worcestershire, and seasoning.
5. In a saucepan, make cheese sauce with butter, flour, milk, cream, and half the cheese.
6. Combine tortellini, steak, veggies, and sauce. Mix well.
7. Spread in baking dish, top with remaining cheese.
8. Bake 25 minutes until golden and bubbly. Garnish with parsley.
Notes
Make-ahead friendly! Assemble up to 24 hours in advance.
For extra flavor, use half provolone and half mozzarella on top.
