These Homemade Easy Cheesy Pizza Pockets are crispy on the outside, gooey and cheesy on the inside, and packed with all your favorite pizza flavors. Quick to make, freezer-friendly, and perfect for lunch, dinner, or snack time!
Ingredients
– 1 can refrigerated pizza dough (or use homemade dough)
– ¾ cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
– 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
– ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
– 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried oregano
– 1 egg (for egg wash)
Optional Fillings:
– Pepperoni slices
– Cooked sausage
– Mushrooms
– Olives
– Bell peppers
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a rectangle and cut into 4 equal squares.
3. Spoon pizza sauce onto half of each square, leaving a ½-inch border.
4. Top with mozzarella, Parmesan (if using), and your choice of fillings.
5. Fold the dough over to form pockets and press the edges with a fork to seal.
6. Beat the egg and brush the tops of the pockets with the egg wash.
7. Sprinkle Italian seasoning or oregano over the tops.
8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
9. Let cool for 3–5 minutes before serving.
Notes
– Don’t overfill the pockets to prevent leaking.
– Use gluten-free dough if needed.
– Freeze unbaked pockets for future meals—bake from frozen, adding 3–4 minutes.
– Reheat in the oven at 350°F for crispness.
