Ingredients

4 large sweet potatoes (about 3 lbs), peeled and cubed

4 tbsp butter, melted

¼ cup maple syrup

¼ cup brown sugar

¼ cup milk or cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp nutmeg

½ tsp salt

½ cup chopped pecans

¼ cup brown sugar (for topping)

2 tbsp melted butter (for topping)

2 tbsp maple syrup (for topping)

¼ tsp cinnamon (for topping)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a baking dish.

2. Boil sweet potatoes until tender, then drain and mash.

3. Stir in butter, maple syrup, sugar, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

4. Spread mixture evenly in the baking dish.

5. Mix pecans, brown sugar, butter, maple syrup, and cinnamon. Sprinkle on top.

6. Bake 25–30 minutes until topping is golden and bubbly.

7. Drizzle with maple syrup and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh sweet potatoes for best texture.

Make ahead and refrigerate before baking.

Add marshmallows on top for a classic twist.
