Smoky sausage, buttery garlic orzo, and Parmesan come together in one skillet for a creamy, flavorful one-pot meal that’s simple, hearty, and utterly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

12 oz smoked sausage, sliced

2 tbsp butter

4 garlic cloves, minced

1 ½ cups uncooked orzo

2 ½ cups chicken broth

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cups spinach (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Parsley for garnish

Optional: ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

1. Brown sausage in a large skillet until golden; remove and set aside.

2. Melt butter in the same pan and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.

3. Add orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes.

4. Pour in chicken broth; scrape up browned bits.

5. Cover and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. Stir in sausage, Parmesan, and spinach; cook until creamy.

7. Season to taste, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

To make creamier, stir in ¼ cup heavy cream before serving. For extra flavor, add sun-dried tomatoes or a splash of white wine while simmering.
