Smashburger Quesadillas combine juicy seasoned beef with melted cheddar cheese and crispy tortillas for the perfect fusion of burgers and quesadillas. A quick and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef (80/20)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
4 large flour tortillas
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
Sour cream, salsa, or guacamole for serving
Instructions
1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
2. Smash beef into an even layer and cook until browned and crispy. Drain excess grease if needed.
3. Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle with cheese.
4. Add beef, diced tomatoes, and more cheese. Top with another tortilla.
5. Cook until the bottom tortilla is golden and crispy, then carefully flip and cook the other side until cheese is melted.
6. Remove from skillet, slice into wedges, and garnish with cilantro.
7. Serve with sour cream, salsa, or guacamole.
Notes
Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting.
Add jalapeños, onions, or bacon for extra flavor.
For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or chicken.
